Apprentice-level program for professionals and aspiring professionals in the traditional sailing vessel field. Help up-rig Niagara while learning and practicing traditional marlinspike seamanship skills, as well as participating in pre-season training sails. Application process is competitive. There is a world out there to be discovered! Fun, educational, hands-on activities include: knot-tying, Life of a Sailor, face painting and maritime music. This year’s family-friendly event event will feature activities based on the plastic pollution in our lakes and oceans and its effects on the world around us.
College-level program focusing on the fundamentals of square-rig seamanship and comparative public history. Program begins and ends in Erie, PA, and will include sailing voyages to the major maritime museums and monuments of Lake Erie. College credit is available through partnering institutions, but participants are not required to be actively enrolled college students.
Join us for an evening of camaraderie and cocktails as you take in the stunning views of Erie’s own U.S. Brig Niagara. This year’s maritime event will feature live entertainment from Tennessee Backporch, dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvres and food stations. Cocktails will be served from multiple bars in the museum, on the plaza, and aboard Niagara. We enhance the evening with our silent and live auctions. The evening will be highlighted with a spectacular fireworks show at dusk. This will be a night you don’t want to miss.

A program for ages 14 to 18, beginning and ending in Erie, PA, and including a voyage to Put-In-Bay, OH for the island’s Maritime Heritage Festival. Curriculum will focus on the fundamentals of square-rig seamanship and developing the skills and personal qualities to meet the challenges of life onboard a ship.

Begins in Kingston, Ontario and proceeds to Montreal and Quebec City, with a passage through the scenic Thousand Islands region. With three Tall Ships festivals in two weeks, this program is perfect for the person who wants to see it all. May be combined with the program immediately after. Passport required.
